Welcome to the Wonderful World of Chiropractic Care! Since the very inception of this amazing profession, we chiropractors have believed that the human body has an amazing in-born capacity to heal. We refer to this as our Innate Intelligence. Given the right set of circumstances, your body is in a continual state of repair and restoration. At the very core of this process, is a properly functioning nervous system. Your nervous system is what controls and co-ordinates the function of every process and every cell of your body. It is the conductor of your body’s incredible symphony of functions.

Your nervous system is made up of three parts: your brain (your computer), your spinal cord (your main power cable), and your spinal nerve pairs (the small wires that go out to your many body parts). Your body has also been designed to protect whichever structures are the most important. That is why your brain is completely encased in solid bone, and your spinal cord is covered by the incredibly protective armor of your vertebral column.

A Doctor of Chiropractic treats one condition and one condition alone. It is called a Subluxation. This refers to an injured or damaged joint, typically of the spine, that shifts out of alignment, and interferes with the normal function of the nerves. Then, whatever part of the body that nerve controls begins to malfunction, leading to a variety of symptoms, including pain, numbness, tingling, burning, weakness, and loss of function.

Whatever symptom has prompted you to start this journey, we hope and pray you take action today. Pain is your body’s cue that something is wrong, and requires attention. Trying to wait it out will only allow it to get worse. So pick up the phone, and take the first step to allowing your body to heal, as it was designed to. As Lao-tzu said, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”!
